It is a big traditional market with more than 500 stores. Although the market is open every day with permanent stores, on the periodic market days (2nd, 4th, 7th and 9th day of the month) a large number of merchants gather to make the place a booming place. The number of people using the market in a single day exceeds 20,000 people.
Malbau Market is famous for fresh vegetables because farmers from the nearby Damyang, Sunchang, Jangsung and Goksung come bringing the products they raised.
